3K a year 8 days ago 8 days ago 8 days ago TITLE Solid Race - FCA/Bore Grind - Operator B COMPANY JTEKT Koyo Bearings DEPARTMENT 60 - Solid Race-FCA/TR BoreGrind LOCATION Cairo, Georgia SHIFT 3rd(11PM - 7AM Hourly GRADE 08 Summary/Purpose The FCA/Thin Ring Cell Operator B is responsible for operating and minor troubleshooting equipment.
Operator B will be the responder to troubleshoot equipment and identify root cause of the problem(s) for Bore, wash and pack processes.
After a predetermined amount of time if the Operator B cannot resolve the problem Operator C will be notified of the issue.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Perform regular scheduled tasks that support machine uptimes and quality.
Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Perform work in a systematic manner when possible to ensure all steps are carried out in proper sequence Read gauges, to include:
Micrometers o Dial calipers o Rotary Trace gages o Bench gages o Air bore gage.
o Electronic OD/Length column gage o Long linear trace gage o Profilometer (surface finish gage/micro tester) Other measuring devices to ensure quality standards are met (grind burn) Make minor machine adjustments based on readings from gages and grind burn test to ensure quality of product.
Post hourly production data on the daily Shift Performance Summary form.
o Hourly production numbers (good pieces, rejected parts) o Machine down time o Specific codes for noted down time.
Assist Operator C with Pms.
Responsible for performance of operator departmental PMs Responsible for daily 5-S and general housekeeping duties Perform major clean up as needed.
Make machine adjustments to resolve process quality or flow issues.
Train other Associates as needed Support departmental goals concerning housekeeping, safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and Standard Work/5S/Lean.
Perform all periodical operations according to standard work instructions.
Maintain knowledge of current quality Maintain knowledge of safety systems Maintain knowledge of regulatory compliance related to this position.
Read and understand Operator and QA instructions for product specification:
Dimensions, tolerances, tooling instructions.
Follow and document operation sheet instructions, control plans.
Operate all machines on the line.
Control and adjust machines to meet quality standards as needed.
Operate by use of Andon System (Quick response to any Andon light that is on) Inspect tools.
Exchange tools as required.
Document process of tool changes:
What was removed from inventory and tooling remaining.
Perform mastering of CAG gage Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to PM schedules.
Assist Operator A as needed to keep the low of the line going.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Mechanical aptitude Use automatic and manual gages.
Use of hand tools including wrenches, screw drivers, ratchets Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, conversion from English to Metric and vice versa.
Blueprint reading Troubleshooting skills Problem solving skills.
Fundamental computer skills Education and
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent Prior mechanical experience a plus Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area.
This position has an exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution and controls, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, steam distribution and generation, water, various types of lubricants, chemical and wash baths, extreme heat, mechanical machine operation, etc.
Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms.
Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
This position requires regular lifting of work up to 40 pounds, and push or pulling work up to 125 pounds with proper equipment.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
