Classified Position Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Technology and building Principal, to maintain and keep the school district's laptops, computers, tablets, phones, printers, wireless access points, and network equipment in operating condition, meeting the technology needs of the district; troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and software, and resolving immediate computer operational problems.
Essential Performance
Responsibilities:
Understand laptop technology with ability to troubleshoot and repair Understand desktop computers and repairs Install and maintain computer operating systems, application software, and related computer equipment.
Perform computer and network hardware and software repair (computers, printers, scanners, and programs).
Working knowledge of WiFi with ability to troubleshoot WiFi issues Inspect computer and network equipment requiring specialized computer repair and troubleshooting for the purpose of identifying and verifying repair needs.
Assess malfunctions of hardware for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer and network operations.
Maintain the school -based computer labs and classroom computers Train selected individuals for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use computer systems and new or existing software.
Coordinate computer and network-related repair requests with end users Assist in record-keeping regarding the functioning and inventory of the school district's computers and related equipment, repairs, etc.
Install and troubleshoot phones Install troubleshoot and repair network Printers Additional Duties:
Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Travel Requirements:
Travel to school district locations, using your vehicle, to repair hardware, install software and assist end users.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of an IP network, addressing, and scheme Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software installation procedures Knowledge of school district personal computer and software applications Knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating system, and network component configuration Ability to inspect, assess, troubleshoot, and repair computer network systems, hardware, and software.
Includes PCs, laptops, printers, wireless access points, projectors, touch screen panels, tablets, etc.
Ability to work in different environments - independently, with a partner, and in groups.
Working knowledge of Google and Microsoft products, Internet, WAN/ LAN, and computer network programs and operations Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of end-users Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions Ability to report work orally and/or in writing to supervisors Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and others contacted in the course of work Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form Ability to install and run network cabling using ladders and lifts Analytical, problem-solving, and creative-thinking skills with respect to computer-related issues Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:
Works in standard office and school building environments.
Able to lift and carry computer monitors, printers, and tower systems (up to 50 pounds) Working knowledge of tools and equipment required to install network systems including security cameras, cat6e cabling, wireless access points, bridges, and switches Understanding that this position is meant to serve others in the school district to assist with teaching and learning.
Qualifications Profile:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
High School diploma.
Related college or technical school coursework.
Documented training in computer hardware, software and network use, troubleshooting and repair.
A
certification and/or networking certifications preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator's License and ability to provide own transportation.
Significant successful related experience in computer and network installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
